Dr. Bhaskar Bhatt
Biography
Dr. Bhaskar Bhatt holds a senior leadership position at ISDI (Curricular collaboration with Parsons New York) Mumbai. As the Associate Dean and Program Director of Product Innovation, he manages professional relationships with leading domestic and international partners. A professor & administrator with 17 years diverse experience, his career has spanned various roles in Institution building, teaching and applied research on innovation in complex socio-economic ecosystems. He has led the pedagogical implementation of an technology & innovation-centrist strategy that has resulted in dozen plus design patents at ISDI. He also serves as the lead of the Centre for Global Heath Innovation & Research (CGHIR).
Previously, as Department Head at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad & DIC lead at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, he has demonstrated expertise in greenfield as well as brownfield design education strategies. Bhatt’s research interests lie in med-tech innovation and public health systems design. Published and speaker at several international and domestic conferences as well as symposiums, his current research seeks to examine the confluence of climate change and health through systems thinking frameworks. Previously with Johns Hopkins University Baltimore, he has led trans-national innovation projects on maternal & neonatal health with clinical testing in Kenya, Nepal & India.
Bhaskar has served on the advisory board of several organizations and incubators and continues to be deeply involved with the Innovation Missions in India. Bhaskar is an engineering alumnus of Bangalore University & design alumnus from the National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, India.
