Professor A. Z. M. Manzoor Rashid, Ph.D, Dean-School of Agriculture and Mineral Sciences & Head-Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology
An academic and researcher by profession, Professor A. Z. M. Manzoor Rashid possesses national and international experience in the field of forestry and environment particularly in natural resource management (NRM) policy, governance and community based natural resource management. He has received doctoral degree in Environmental Law from Western Sydney University, Australia, post-graduations consecutively in Environmental Science, Forestry and Environment & Development from Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences, Sweden, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh and University of London, UK. Professor Manzoor is currently embellishing the position of Dean of the School of Agriculture and Mineral Sciences and Head of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. One and a half decades of teaching and working experience in a renowned public university and development organization leaded Professor Manzoor enriching his capacity on contemporary issues and discourses of NRM. Several international competitive scholarships and research engagements boosted his research and academic career. His affiliations as a researcher has contributed more than 24 publications in peer reviewed international and national journals. Professor Manzoor has also contributed a book as editor and six book chapters’ in national and international book publications. He has supervised and examined a substantial number of Masters, M. Phil and doctoral theses both at home and abroad. Apart from teaching and research, Dr Manzoor is actively engaged in consultancy and advisory services. Some of the recent assignments with ICIMOD, USAID, Helvitas and IUCN are worth mentioning.
