Biography
Leila Urekenova is Programme Analyst at the UN Environment’s Programme’s Europe Office, where she is involved with the management of a portfolio of projects in the European region. She coordinates the work of the Geneva Science-Policy Platform on Environment and Security, a forum which brings together scientists and policymakers in search of innovative solutions to address the environment and security nexus. Leila graduated from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She went on to complete her Master’s and PhD degrees in International Law at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
